At the age of 58 after 40 years of non exercise except for dog walking, today I found myself up early 5:30am after restless night and decided to complete my run/shuffle for the day, I am beginning to think I have been possessed by a fitness ghost😂 Completed the run, admit to struggling during last 5 minute run but did it not with any great style or flair but am still breathing👍🏃‍♀️☺️

Come on you fellow would be runners, if I can do it anyone can, slowly slowly 🐢 but hey we are moving

Lovely time of day to go and what a better way to enjoy sunrise and all it brings. Do you have a scenic route at that time of day?

All my runs are on the mill too! I blame hayfever and many other things too 😂😂 I might try and do 1 run a week outside....might.

I ran outside last week whilst we were on holiday but it was up and down the garden of the cottage we were staying at and the only neighbours were sheep- dont think they quite knew what to make of it🤣

I am sure they were very impressed. Exercising on holiday is a whole new level of amazing!

Oh you will, for sure. If you are making the commitment now (which you clearly are from your early run), and enjoying what you do, these are two essential ingredients that will take you through.

If you are able to run outside in woods or near the sea, the experience of nature just adds another dimension.

Keep it up!

Well done! I’m 55 and am planning my second “run” of week one having not done any running since school and then under duress! Encouraging to read I am not alone! Keep going!

Well done! I always 'run' very early too, I have done W3R2 this morning, so feeling good, I am amazed I'm still going to be honest, I thought I'd have given up by now, I think there is some truth in your 'fitness ghost' theory! 😊

Huge well done you... I smiled when I read this... I remember posting a few years ago and used your phrase ...no style no flair..."

It matters not... you ran and you ran early... wow!

Keep it slow and keep it steady.. and remember snails rock... you will be amazed where snails get to :)

This snail did her first HM a week before her 69th birthday :)

All you need to do is to get outside now... it is glorious and at the time you run..there will only be you out there:)

Now I am impressed , oldies rule👍 and snails😂 I have every respect for you running HM, think I have quite way to go yet to catch you 🐢 well done ☺️

It was said not out of pride, (although I was pleased with myself), but just to let you know that we are able to achieve anything we set our mind to. I have always been slow and steady, always banging on about it to folk on here, ever since I began this running nearly four years ago. It gets us there...

Do think about moving outside too...it adds another dimension, and rest assured, folk are far too buy with their own lives to notice us :) x

Well done early-bird! You'll feel fantastic for the rest of the day!

Yikes that’s early! But well done for getting it done. My fitness ghost likes her sleep too much to run at that time 😂😂 But that may change if we get silly hot days this year

I can vouch for running outdoors though, i run on a trail and it’s lovely to hear the birds and see the butterflies and feel the wind cooling you down

Keep up the good work!

I have a feeling that early morning is going to be best option for me - gives me less time to think of reasons why not to run just get it done👍
