I'm on week 7, run 3 will be Saturday, and I'm being encouraged to join park run. Is it too soon if I stick with the programme whilst doing it?

Never too soon. Do stick with the programme: you can do a brisk walk for the rest of the Parkrun and be able to set a baseline time which you can then have fun whittling away at. Enjoy !
I did mine as a celebration run after week 9 but so long as you stick to the programme you can still do it. Start at the back so you don’t get in the way of those running and enjoy it. ⚠️ you might get hooked. It’s my favourite run of the week and Saturdays have never been the same since I started this running lark.
Go, go, go! There are no set rules, anyone and everyone can go to parkrun whenever they wish, if you’re not sure about joining in, go along and watch or volunteer first, you’ll soon see what a great community it is
Go! Do your planned run, chat to people and have fun!

Absolutely go, stick to the plan, soak up the atmosphere and have a fantastic time. I’m running as a 30 minute pacer this week at my local Parkrun. I can’t wait, Volunteering and Running at the same time. Double the fun. You’ll love it.

Do it, but don't get carried away and do too much too soon........stick with your C25K programmed workout and walk the rest.
You will still create a new 5k parkrun pb.
I chickened it! Going away tomorrow so wouldn't be able to go next Saturday, so saving it for week 9. You will be pleased I've downloaded the Pod cast for week 8 so I can run on my holidays!!
