Make sure you warm up before you run, it is easy to forget that bit. Listen to the first timers brief & then just enjoy it. Remember to pace yourself because it is easy to try keep up with the faster runners, nice & steady is the way to go. Have a great first time, I am sure you will be hooked 😁

Run some, walk some, slow and steady, as ever... and enjoy!

Don't go off too fast. Take it easy. You can speed up later if you are comfortable. Enjoy it.

Yes, definitely take it steady and try to enjoy it - I have only done 4 so far but have managed to achieve a new PB each time (sometimes only by a few seconds) - it's a great feeling of achievement running with 'proper' runners! Everyone there is so supportive. Don't forget to take your barcode on a bit of paper as I don't think they accept them on mobile devices yet! Good luck 👍🏼

The main bit of advice is SUN CREAM, SUN CREAM AND MORE SUN CREAM. Even though it's early, the sun can still get you.

The second bit if advice, is don't get caught up with the front runners. Some will run off like scalded cats - and they will finish in an obscene time. Take it S L O W and enjoy it. Watch other people's feet and don't worry when others pass you. It ISN'T a race.

Above all, enjoy every moment, and don't forget your barcode!

Do remember to register your club as NHS C25k, just to let them know.

Do remember to take your barcode with you when you run.

Do remember to have a great time and talk to all those lovely friendly runners who will be happy to help a new parkrunner.

Just enjoy the experience and don't set off too fast. Listen to your body to pace yourself. You'll be fine

Take a bit of cash as there might be refreshments after

It's a lovely set up. Everyone moving in one direction with the same aim. To get round and have fun

It's not all about running. There are less able bodied folks, and the walking wounded, as well as really fast and very slow runners. It doesn't matter as they all have fun

Have a good one 🙂

If you're driving to the park run, remember to leave early enough to get a parking space - many people will be doing the same - and allow enough time so you can do your five minute warm up walk before the pre - run introductions.

It really is a family friendly event, so be prepared to have to negotiate dogs, children and buggies en route.

And yes, start towards the back of the pack, and take it slow and steady for the first run. You can always speed up for the last k if you still have the energy.

Good luck!
