Hi, having completed c25k in January, all my runs were in winter. I loved everyone of them. I’m now struggling with the better weather and finding I’m making ‘excuses’ not to get out the door. Any suggestions greatly welcomed. As are big kicks up the bum, especially as I’ve got a half marathon in October!! Thanks in advance 🏃♀️🏃♀️
C25k over winter: Hi, having completed c25k in... - Couch to 5K
C25k over winter
You've answered your own question , you have to get out and run you have a half marathon in october . Now pick 3 days a week and they're you running days good luck 😊😊
Ah I see the summer gremlins are lurking !!! Have you got your training plan set up for HM?
Not yet, just trying to get out 3 times a week atm lol
Do you think putting your plan together may help? Even if the training plan doesn’t start quite yet you have something to aim for. You can call this phase your like pre training plan running which is running 3 days a week. You can do this. Look at just how many weeks you ran 3 times.
I know that you prefer the early morning runs Shelley.
As you have a HM coming up in October you will need to get at least 3 morning runs a week, perhaps 1/5K and another 2 shorter runs. Do look up for a training plan for running a HM, a 10K, maybe 10 miles before October. 😊 🏃
Well you've got just 60 runs before your half-marathon. Including a few rest weeks that is 20 weeks. Every week that goes past without you putting in the effort is 3 runs that you missed. Long, slow, steady training starting now is going to cause less risk of injury than getting to 10 weeks before and then over-doing it.
Just get out there!!!... and enjoy the sun on your back! Get a visor to keep it out of your eyes and don't forget your sunscreen!
Don't miss out on everything coming to life around you! Blue bells, trees, etc👍😁
I’m running at 5.15 tomorrow morning, are you with me (virtually obvs)?!
Up, out..... back when most are just starting to stir.
I also prefer winter running, crispy dark mornings, perhaps that makes us special 🤩
