I’m 11 and my mum did C25k and I decided to do it as well because I didn’t really run a lot in Primary because I was very slow and I didn’t play games like it because I was always caught first and then I couldn’t catch anyone and it made me feel bad because people teased me.
I’m hoping to get better at running so I can feel better about myself.

You sound like a great wee girl!! Don't let other people put you off. Sometimes children tease others because they don't feel very good about themselves. You are doing fantastically well to have started the Couch to 5K and we'll all be routing for you. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Yay!! Go go go MiniNoodle! The great thing about C25K is that you're always doing better than your old self - not competing with anyone else. That's what I love. Enjoy your running!
PS she’s quicker than me ☺️ I’m trying to get her to not sprint and exhaust herself! She’s definitely got the talking and running combo down - HappyNoodle
Congratulations MiniNoodle! You will definitely improve as you follow the plan . Please don’t bother about fast or slow. Your pace is your own and nobody else’s. Be proud of it .
Not only will you feel better about yourself, you will be more confident , see everything in a different way, and you won’t even care about teasing people . Enjoy your running!
Well done, MiniNoodle. It is fantastic that you are getting yourself fit and you should be so proud of yourself. Remember there will be up and down days so try not to look back on how games / running was at school and try to focus on now. Happy running, MiniNoodle. 👍👣🌞
This is a great post!! Mini noodle, all I’m going to say darling is you’re awesome 😎 👏🏻Never let people put you off, it’s hard I know but just be yourself!! It sounds like you have a great Mum to work together with on your journey.
Tell yourself you can do it and you really will 💕🤩 I’m so glad you’re doing it, well done you!! Keep us updated with yours & Mums progress x x
Just think, if you keep at it like your mum did, you'll soon be running distances and times you never thought you could
When the world finally gets back to normal, ask your mum to take you along to Junior Parkrun - you'll find lots of like minded people of your own age, who all have one thing in common... the love of running!
Also, just remember: those kids didn't make fun of you because you couldn't catch, or because you weren't very good at games. They made fun of you simply because they're not very nice people. Be confident in who you are and turn your back on anyone who tries to take you down.
I always hated PE at school and was always picked last for teams. That’s why I avoided any attempts at running for 25+ years. This programme is all about you and no one else. Before you know it, you’ll be getting better run by run.
Wish I’d taken your attitude because I love running now. I graduated today and it’s the best feeling!
Take it steady and enjoy the moment when you drop into conversation with those silly kids that you can run for 30mins without stopping. 2020 is all about endurance, not sprinting! 👍🏻
I think you will find C25K amazing. It builds you up slowly, so if you have patience and do your runs every week I think you will see excellent results. Is your Mum going to bike or scoot along with you?
I hope you have a really good time with your C25k challenge, and well done you for taking it on.
Well done, I hope you enjoy it. My 11 year old and 13 year old girls have just completed week 1 so you're not alone! They too have seen a difference in me and have been encouraged to try and get fitter and have more self confidence before school starts again.
Go for it MiniNoodle (great name) you’ll soon improve at running and you’ll be amazed at how much your fitness stamina and confidence increases. Ignore people who tease you, you’ll show them.....let their negativity make you even more determined......Good Luck on your journey 👍
