I’ve just completed W6R3, and it was tough! I definitely found it the hardest to date, I think predominantly though it was psychological, though I felt exhausted by the end. Week 6 was tougher than I thought. After completing 20 mins continuous in W5R3, I thought it would be a breeze!
25 minutes seems a long time, and I find I am getting bored more than anything and willing for the end! Tonight I tried listening to a podcast while I ran, which I think did help to distract me. I find music only makes things seem to go slower, as I am just counting down the songs! What are other people’s techniques to help them through?
Onwards and upwards to Week 7 now!

Great job. 25 is a psychological wall... you knocked that down... tough it may be, but you were tougher.
Week 6 workouts start longer than W5R3... the only thing that sees W6R1 as easier is that bit between the ears. It’s a run that many now successful graduates have had to repeat.
I don’t often run to music alone... if it’s not my music I just don’t like it... and if it is, I know how long the tracks are and do that countdown thing. Podcasts serve me better. When I’m in the mood for music I play it with a Nike run club guided run, which has coaching and music fades in and out... best of both worlds for me.
