R2 done today. Not going to lie it was hard going. I should have had a break in between but it would have been too long until my next run which is Friday. Anyway I’m aching all over 😂so glad I didn’t cave in though! Does it get easier?

Definitely gets easier! I’m onto week three now and I still think week one was harder! Just have to push through it. I found doing some stretches before going helps with movement too I just searches running stretches on YouTube! Keep it up!

Yes it does get easier and you will surprise yourself as you progress. Just take your time and don’t be put off if you have to repeat any runs. I’ve redone a few and sometimes walk when I should be running. Enjoy the journey (0:

It isn't advisable to run without a rest day as you can get an injury that can put you out of running . Don't worry about how many days to your next run its better with a few rest days than none at all 😊😊

It does get easier - but those rest days are vital. When we run we cause micro tears to our muscles, and on the rest day they heal - which means muscle is built, and bone cells are made and micro capillaries are formed and all sorts of amazing things that will make you a better stronger runner! Just take it nice and slow and you’ll be fine!

Thankyou that’s really helpful. Il defiantly make sure I have rest days in future

Hmmm. Well done completing the run. If you don’t take the rest days, no it won’t get easier... it could even end in injury. Running Tuesday and then Friday is far better than Tuesday and Wednesday! Let your fitness and muscle conditioning develop properly with rest days and it will get easier.

Is is normal to have pain in calf muscles and hips or is that the result of not resting?

Possibly just your body getting used to a new exercise 😊

Welcome! It does get easier but please don’t run consecutive days, best have 2-3 days than do that. You risk injury if you run too often especially at the start. Also do have a look at the nhs stretches for post run (nhs one you), have a hot shower and hydrate. Finally go slower! You are going to love this programme, it really works!

Well done, but rest days are essential as explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which includes advice on many other topics too.
