Graduation day yay!!!

I did it! Last run of week 9. I can’t believe I’ve completed the program and I now run for 30 minutes!

It wasn’t the easiest start of the day as the odds seemed against me, I couldn’t find my clothes, then my phone didn’t want to open the app nor my music, and then unexpected back gate locked! I even questioned if this was a sign, will I get an injury today and that sort of negative talk. But I persevered and got out another way, changed my route slightly and went for it.

I was quite tired at the end but it was totally worth the efforts.

I wanted to share some of the tips that worked for me:

- I don’t run on my period, I take a week off as I’m too tired, I actually never repeated the last run when I started the following week, but that was my plan had I struggled

- I only run on soft grass and some paths, on week 4 I had a lot of pain on my knees. Since I’ve started running on grass only, I don’t have pain any more.

- I do like to check a new route by going for a walk before I run mainly because of the pavement type

- I love my running shoes! Getting them before I started the program was the best thing I did after my good friends advice.

So now is just more of the same, I’m having my week off and then I’m planning to do my consolidation runs before I attempt my local park run.

I love this forum, it helped me so much when I had my negatives thoughts and laziness keeping in... all the positive stories, the struggles, it makes me feel normal and human. Thank you all that post and that cheer us and that always see our positives when we can’t.

Also in my head I imagine I’m Forrest! And remember his sweet happy face whilst running all over the world! “Run Forest Run “ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ ❤️
