Week 8, Run 3; Waited until the day cooled down for this run. So I am plodding along and the podcast for the run cuts out. This has happened before, so I just switch to music and keep on running. Since I don't have the verbal cues for where I am in the run, I just do what I think I did last time. I was using my hiking (GPS) watch to get a good number for my distance. So at the end, I discover I did not run 28 minutes as expected, I ran 32 minutes instead. Woohoo, I am ready for Week 9, Oh, and I did get my distance 2.61 km....so 30 minutes isn't even close to a 5K, I will have to keep increasing my time until I can run for an hour. Either that, or I have to run faster. Both sound pretty challenging.

I kept losing podcasts as well so downloaded the app instead. Great running, it's amazing how fast we can cope with the extra few minutes near the end of the programme when most of us struggled on wk1 with 60 seconds of running 😀

Keep it steady and keep it slow... you are doing just fine... and rest assured.. many, many never do 5K in 30 minutes after nine weeks.. It is just the lovely relaxed 30 minutes that counts

Hi - this happened to me... I had the app on, and lost 10 minutes ...luckily I had a GPS thingy telling me each 5 mins and how many km...
I ended up doing 35.57 in W8 and 3k - yes, pathetic distance... but I DID enjoy that run!!! Doing my graduation run tomorrow... have not yet enjoyed W9...
I expect it will take me at least 6 months to 1 year to get to 5k in 30 mins!
