Who's afraid of the big bad hills?

I was not looking forward to Park Run today - it was a different route because of the fair on the Common, so there were more uphill sections and I have a real mental block about running uphill. It was the warmest day I've run since I started in October last year, and I prefer temperatures around zero for comfort. All in all, I was prepared for a disastrous run, and decided that if I came in at 50 minutes and a few seconds I'd be more than happy. In fact, it was not nearly as bad as I thought, 48:39 - better than 7 of my 14 runs! So maybe I shouldn't be put off by the hills after all! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Ž

Next week's Park Run is on the same hillier route - bring it on!

Congratulations Amerynthe on running that run quicker than you anticipated at SUB 50 minutes, who knows at next week's parkrun you may get a sub 45 minutes time. Enjoy the rest of the Easter weekend. 😊

Thanks! I will know how to pace myself on that route next weekend, so going to get my head into the right space before I set off and am determined to keep on improving! :-)

Hills, in moderation, make you stronger........in excess, they can put you on the IC.

I'm calling them hills. Other people on the run were calling them 'inclines' because they are quite gentle. I'm just a bit of a wuss!
