Very new to all this so would love some advice. Hoping to graduate next week, actually let’s change that, I Will graduate next week. Question is, do people still do 5 min warm up walk before running, and what stretches/cool down should I do after a 30 min/5k run.

Thanks

Just because you have passed the arbitrary graduation target of C25K does not mean that your muscles are invulnerable to injury if not sufficiently warmed up.

Elite athletes warm up.......so should we. They are superbly fit. Most of us are less so, making it even more important.

There is slightly more disagreement about a cool down, as part of its purpose is to disperse lactic acid and some authorities contend that does not work. However, I still do a five minute cool down walk followed immediately by the past run stretches linked to in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Thank you so much, I am a long way off being any sort of athlete, so definitely need to keep warming and cooling. Thanks for all the fab tips x
