The power of encouragement

Today was week 6 run 2..... I was tired and stressed about work. Kept going somehow and suddenly 2 people in their garden called out “you can do it! Keep going!” and gave me a thumbs up. Honestly it brought tears to my eyes. In a good way. I love C25K. And this community is brilliant. Thank you all just for being there.....you don’t know me but you actually are helping me every time I put my trainers on 😍

Hi , aw what a lovely post! Isn’t it amazing what a word of encouragement can do , especially if we have other things on our minds or are doubting ourselves. Well done for getting through it and hope you feel better now. You’re doing amazing! Be proud of yourself.

I’ve finished wk 8 this week and so glad I have this app as , although I’ve only started posting the odd comment recently , it’s been such a source of comfort and encouragement!! Brilliant community!

What a lovely post. 💕

I agree with you, there’s something special about this network of virtual run buddies.

A word or smile of encouragement from strangers when you are out on your run works wonders.

Enjoy your running in the sun 🌞

How nice that was of those two people to give you encouragement on your run today Jerichomile

During my 9 weeks on C25K. I was only cheered on by two people, the first was when I was running run 3 of week 5 and the second time was when someone cheered me on run 3 of week 9, yes the two most important ones of C25K, onwards and upwards to run 3 of week 6, once you have completed that, you are OFFICIALLY a runner. 😊 🏃

Such a lovely post !

The encouragement from people we don’t know on here and on the street makes us get through it and achieve what we thought was the impossible.

Running in the sun ☀️ now that’s another achievement !! I would melt !!

The C25K seems to have a good way of making it manageable doesn’t it? Glad you had a good run Bookbizlady. Enjoy the sunshine this weekend 💐

People are nice aren't they? 😊 I tend to go out first thing in the morning (w6r3 tomorrow!) so I tend to see the same dog walkers every day. It makes a difference when I get a big cheery 'hello!' as I'm wheezing past them!
