What a lovely day for a run! I wanted to go earlier when it wasn’t quite so warm but didn’t manage to get out till 3 so decided to take it slow.
I know in theory i don’t need to take a drink if I’m well hydrated n it’s less than an hour (n I definitely was!) but I also know that the combination or heat, exertion and dehydration can trigger a headache that turns into a migraine so I took one along just in case. Ended up drinking most of it n thankfully avoided the headache
The run itself was tough for about 20 minutes then eased up. I went slower than usual but still managed to cover the same distance so maybe my slow pace isn’t as slow as it used to be 😃
Went for a walk later along my run route but turned left instead of right to check out where the path went. It’s a long gentle slope uphill so going to give that a try at some point to get a bit more uphillness under my belt. Not looking forward to it but it’s all downhill on the way back lol 😂🥵🏃♀️

Great job. Slow and comfortable pace is almost certainly rising, and then there’s the relaxed happy rhythm that can feel slow but be so even that it ends up being a faster overall run... both are good running progression.
I carried water in the heat last year, didn’t drink any but it’s so very refreshing poured over a spent runner at the finish 😂
Yes I was quite surprised when I passed the bench and the couple of landmarks beyond it. Thought i’de get to the bench n then the halfway bell would go off
I’m not good in the heat at the best of times but I’ve always said it was the fat keeping the heat in 😂. I’m definitely coping better with it than I used to even though I’ve only lost a few pounds but I won’t be running without a drink while it’s this warm
Uphillness is a great word ! I’m going to name the path to the stone circle the SJR Uphillness in your honour (and try not to get confused when coming back down 😂)
Thanks, I’m still not looking forward to it 😂 I daren’t not take water while it’s this warm. I’d rather have it n not need it than not have it and suffer the consequences
