So, I'm in my 'Graduation Week'... and wow - I really had a 'bad' run today - legs like lead, really really slow - nice new route... and a sodding great hill in the last 100m.
BUT my main bug-bear is that Sarah mentioned getting to 5km in her intro.
I know it's meant to be 30 mins running to graduate, but having no hope of getting to 5k (yet) unless I run for 1 hour, it makes me a bit sad.
Moan over. I feel better now. : )

The distance is not so important, you are still exercising for the same time and probably using as much energy as those who do go further in the same time. Slowly slowly and persistent and you will get there 👍🏼👍🏼😃
Pft to Sarah- just keep running. I’m on W9r1 next and if Laura says I can achieve 5k in 30 mins, I will politely ignore. Running for 30 mins will be a life time achievement of itself ( unless I count my 15 year old self shuffling/ walking on the school cross country route 37 years ago...)!
...This week, you can finally achieve your goal: running for 30 minutes non-stop, covering around five kilometers. Let's start, as always, with our brisk, five minute walk. Off you go.
Don't be disheartened. How can a program that is available to everyone (old, young, male, female, over-weight, disabled, indoor on treadmill or outdoors, hills, flat, grass, pavement...) be prescriptive on distance? It can't: only the time of 30 minutes matters.
Sarah says "....covering five kilometers along the way" - so I expect there was some deviation between trainers using the script! ... but don't worry I get your point, and I'll be working hard at my 30 minutes and then I will be working harder to get to 5km by increasing gradually post-graduation.
