So, W9R1 yesterday. In the bag!! Only 2 to go. All I want to know is what kind of witchcraft is this program? I'm a 17 stone, arthritic, 42 year old, unfit bloke and somehow I just ran for 30 minutes without stopping!! It doesn't seem like so long ago that I was almost dying trying to complete weeks 1 and 2. Somewhere along the way, something has changed but I honestly can't say that I noticed anything changing. I've not even lost much weight. That's why I've come to the conclusion that it can only be magic! There's no other explanation. Don't worry though, I won't tell any non-believers. Don't want angry mobs with torches and pitch-forks on the march. We'll keep it a secret among ourselves. And all you newbies just starting out on weeks 1 and 2, don't worry. There's lots of us to get round but those witches and wizards will get to you eventually. In the meantime, keep up the struggle. You'll reach a point when it doesn't hurt so much any more and you actually start looking forward to your runs. That's when you'll know. Magic!!

Well done to you Saltdog, running in itself won't make too much difference to your overall weight, need to go on a special diet prescribed by your doctor but with that diet and general health exercises including the C25K app, through time you could lose weight and get your weight down to what you want it to be.

There have been reports from some graduates who have said that they have lost weight while doing the C25K course, no doubt they have also been on a diet as well prescribed by their doctor.

Good luck for your graduation run and have a good Easter weekend..

You’re right AlMorr, I’m 8 weeks in and I coupled c25k with a calorie controlled diet and a Fitbit - it alone transformed the way I look at food/drink as well as how I strive to meet the exercise goals I’ve set (I’m a little on the competitive side!). I’m now 20lbs lighter than when I started but I’ve cut out loads of junk and taken on more exercise.

Good for you Jaybrass73, that is great news that you are 20lbs lighter due to your calorie diet and no junk food as well as the running of course.

I agree, I am also in no doubt of the magic held in C25K and I’m loving it.

Congratulations on your success of bringing running into your life and smashing it. 👏

Nice! Enjoy those last two runs. Taking part in your local parkrun will help you maintain this useful habit.

Looking forward to seeing your graduation post

It’s definitely witchcraft, I’m an overweight 51 year old with arthritis and tendon damage and I can now run 25 mins without stopping. Week 1 nearly killed me! Hoping I can get to the end too!

Fantastic! Well done. It is an amazing feeling, isn't it? It's also strange how it sort of happens when you aren't looking. I've just realised that I ran parkrun this morning and I can still go up and down the stairs without limping and swearing. When did that happen??
