I think I’ve injured me knee...

Did a 5K at weekend, possibly pushed myself too much. Took a couple of days rest but knee was particularly painful when going down stairs and struggled to bend it. I maybe stupidly went for a run this morning but didn’t push myself. My knees didn’t hurt at all during the run but afterwards and now, knee feels sore, throbbing and hot. Not sure what to do and I’m on Week 9 now 😢

Same happened to me! I tried ibuprofen gels etc but it didn’t make any difference. Fortunately I had some lotion prescribed by a herbalist for tennis elbow and used that. It eased the pain and after a couple of days rest I was out running again.

Would you be able to tell me the name of the lotion the herbalist recommended please? Thanks!

It’s not lotion sorry it’s an oil to massage into the area. Rosemary, Bay and Ginger Oil.

Other half isn’t a believer so he reckoned it was placebo affect. I’m convinced as it cured my tennis elbow and helped with the knee thing. I still get twinges so I use it mainly at bedtime.

I am on week 7 and had same problem

Have had to stop

Just got back from physio who said it’s not my knees it’s the muscles in thighs and bottom and will get better in approx a week If I follow 3 exercises

You need to rest that knee. Put your running on hold until then.

I'm sure you realise that the extra 10 minutes you popped onto week 8 is the likely culprit, but all is not lost.

It will recover, but only if you allow it to.

Good luck, and be patient 😐
