Armed with my compression socks and my new Brooks ghost 11’s I’ve just completed W4R1 after much apprehension.

I didn’t think I’d managed the 5 min runs but thinking of everyones inspiring words I nailed it. In the end I felt I could have kept running.

Having said that, I am running so so slow and might not get to 5k but I’ll get there in my own time.

I think I might of caught the running bug!

Don’t worry about distance - this is really about training you to run for 30 minutes. Going slow is how a lot of us managed to graduate & many of us (me!) stick to slow running after. If running 5k in 30 minutes is your goal, you can work on that after you’ve consolidated post graduation. I’ve been adding time to my runs - because I’ve stayed slow (Japanese slow jogging technique) so achieved 5k at 45 mins. Nice and slow and you’ll get there!

Woo-hoo! Great stuff, well done. 👊😊

After reading your post, this morning, i knew I could do it. Thank you and let’s keep on running! x

Oh my compression socks and Brooks Ariels are a match made in heaven for me! 👌🏻

I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry about pace or distance. It really is irrelevant at this stage and you’re doing great! 👏🏻
