Running twice a day - advice

Hello you lovely lot.... quick question... I am due to complete consolidation run 3 tomorrow after graduating last Saturday. My sister is starting C25K and I have said I will run with her in the morning - when I usually run but I don't want to loose progression through consolidating the 30mins. I was wondering if I could do the 8min intervals with her in the morning and do my consolidation run later on in the evening (taking Sunday and Monday as rest days)?

Best advice is to not do a full 30 minute run later. You’ll have run 8, so go have a leisurely 20 minute run after the session with your sister. You won’t lose any fitness, indeed you will gain some just like with every run. After consolidation you’ll probably be varying your runs up, it won’t hurt to do that at this stage.

Excellent advice from UnfitNoMore - one with your sister and a 20 minute later!

There are no rules but there is a simple fact that the more you run, the higher your injury risk.

Can't you do the run with your sister and then carry on for 20 minutes?

She can cool down, stretch , relax.......

Thanks Guys! I ran the 8 mins with sis and niece at 8am and then did a further 25 mins later on..... surprised to feel a bit frustrated at the end of their week one and itching to run further :)
