Hi all you fabulous runners, I'm after some advice.
I have been running for 30 mins 3 x week since graduating and have been enjoying it buy every now and again the top of my pelvis/thigh bone really hurts and sometimes I get a sharp pain when I weight bear. It also happens if I swivel on my leg too. So I then rest my leg for a week and don't run. Any ideas why this happens? Is it my hip flexor? Any advice welcome.

Here on C25K we are not medical professionals or experts on health problems but we can advise runners if they have some issues with runs to rest but if any problems persists to go and seek advice from a doctor or medical professional, you say that you have rested but the pain on your hip flexor persists, maybe you should seek professional advice. I just hope that the pain will heal soon.
Ive graduated too and run outdoors, I used to get an ache now and again in my pelvis/thigh bone but not anymore...I stretch before and straight away after a run when your muscles are still warm. Also do some yoga/pilates on your rest days which should help you....I have osteoarthritis in my hip and since runnning/yoga have seen a great improvement and no pain. Try not to land heavily when you run which could cause jarring. If persists and getting sharp pain then you should seek advice from your doctor. Hope you can get to run again soon.
