Hi all, just completed W8R3 I haven’t concerned myself with speed, but out of curiosity I got an app and started recording the distance of the running part, so today I did 3.85km in the 28 mins, is this about average in everyone’s experience?

Running speed

Hi Neiliix, not sure there's an average as such. There's a wide range of people here, ages, fitness etc. 90% of graduates can't run 5k in 30 minutes at week 9 but some do. My easy pace is 7.5k per hour, my parkrun pace is 8.33k pet hour but I can't keep that up for a full 5k - so your 8.25k p/h is my average! The more miles you get in your running legs, then speed increases naturally. Not sure if that helps you? 😊😊

very normal... For me to do my 5k I have to run for about 40-45 mins on average..... but I dont care lol... my pb is around 39 mins.

There is a pinned post of Distance at graduation. It has a very wide range, from 2.5 km in 30 minutes to nearly 6km.
Your speed is 100% perfect and on target for you.
Thanks I will check that out
I think MarkyD is referring to this poll healthunlocked.com/couchto5.... rather than a post.
So far done two runs of week 9: 4.82km in 31:15 and then 4.94km miles in 30:11 so not yet done the 5k in under 30 minutes yet but something I am aiming for. Speed will improve with time so no need to rush.
