Week7 Run2 don't run on narrow tracks after rain

*try a different route* chirrupped Sarah. OK, pet , I thought.

Dropped son off at Rugby training last night, and, rather than run round the pitches a few times ( don't think the squad or coaches are ready for this magnificent sight yet) thought I'd try the tracks behind the Club.

Didn't factor in last night's rain, meaning narrow tracks were so boggy I had to keep stopping. Eventually found better paths....up hills, and somehow managed to tear my new running trousers, probably when twisting to avoid having my eye gouged out by a rogue branch.

So, not 25 mins straight, but more of a stamina-running-up-hills-good-for-the-thighs run.

Not sure whether to treat that as part of the programme run, or an alternative exercise . Maybe see how I feel after the next run, back on trusty pavements.

Have a good day everyone.

If you ran for all but a few moments..then count it... it is your choice and you know how you feel about it. It sounds a great run..I love exciting off road runs anyway and you had a brilliant work out..

Whatever you decide.. well done you!

Welcome to the joys of trail running 😂. That’s a great run on boggy trails, well done. What you count it as is your call of course... rest assured those hills and that mud will have given you even more strength and stamina than a flat one.

Enjoy run 3(or 2)

I did W7 R2 on Wednesday, but as i was somewhere new my pace was far too fast and i was done after 20 minutes. I usually run at 5:50 per kilometre, I’d been running at 5:25.

Mentally took it as a good workout/miles in the bank but want to complete each C25K run as my initial aim was to complete this program in entirity.

Repeated W7 R2 it this morning and completed the 25 at usual pace so happy bunny once more.

We’re hopefully going to graduate around the same time bananahead, i can see that finish line 199 minutes away 😊

Good to hear from you DaleyLama (my virtual running buddy!). Good call to repeat the run; I agree, although it's a bit frustrating to repeat the run, it's all about building up stamina. I did the run again this morning, and although I did 25 mins it was quite tough. I'll take today as wk7r2 and do the next run as Wk7 run3 25 mins.

Sunday morning?
