First Run

Just did my very first run this eve and was actually terrified to do it but surprised myself and got through it. I managed the 60 sec and rest for 90, 7 times.

Well chuffed.

Well done! I just did my first one too - completely terrified as I have done no fitness since a medical diagnosis in July. Keep it up, hope we both can!!!

Well done to all of you new starters! It does get easier and I’m finding at week 4 I’m enjoying it more. Never thought I would write that after my first run!

How much does the first walk/run actually cover in Km? Can the app tell you.

Hi. I only recently completed the program. My advice would be to not think about distance. Don’t measure it at this stage because, if you’re anything like me you’ll only be disappointed at how far from 5k you are! I did notice that each week I covered more and more distance because u r running for longer and longer. There are apps to measure distance but I’d definitely wait till u complete the program. The program will get u to running for 30 mins and then yr next challenge will be running for 5k. Good luck!

Well done you ⭐️ Remember you can repeat a run if you don’t manage all the requirements - in fact you really should, because each run builds on the one before. Repeating isn’t failing, it’s giving your body time to adjust to new challenges. It took me nine weeks of repeats to conquer week 1, so I know what I’m talking about here 😄 Just remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Enjoy your journey x
