Morning, I started the program last August and got to week 7 run 1 around October I couldn’t get past this barrier and kept getting pains in my side, the weather got rubbish and I gave in. I ran again for this first time on Thursday starting back on week 3 run 1, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t kill me. Has anyone started again half way through the program before? I don’t know if to skip ahead or stay where I am?
Wanting to start again: Morning, I started the... - Couch to 5K
Wanting to start again
No don't skip any runs Suki90, I graduated last June, kept running a few 5Ks including a PB up until the colder weather started, my plan is to restart also at week 3 run 1 sometime soon, I go long walks but during those walks I sometimes put the C25K app on week 2 just to keep up with a little running.
As AlMoor says I’d stick at it - as you hit a barrier last time you’ll need to build stamina and strength again. (Gets out old drum to bang!) I’m always recommending this but check out the Japanese slow jogging movement - there’s a short film on youtube showing this low impact style of running. I swear by it and some kind soul posted here when I was in week 6 and it changed everything for me. I’m now able to run for 45 mins and will be adding 5 mins to my one long run a week soon ( I also do 2 x 30s) I wouldn’t be able to this without the nico nico way (that’s smile in Japanese!). Good luck!
Sounds like week 3 is the right starting point. It won’t take you long to get through the programme again. Welcome back 😀
Thank you all, I did the week 3 run 2 today and glad I didn’t skip any, found it harder than the first but still relatively okay x
