By my maths I'm now half way through the programme having just completed W5R2. First 5 mins were tough, not helped by the mud and the hill I was running up, but Rolling Stones 'Paint it Black' got me up. By the end of those 8 mins I was in a rhythm and a little disappointed that it was time to walk.
Next 8 mins easier (thanks to Britney and Elbow). I then have to admit coming off the programme a little. The W5R3 20 minutes has been bugging me so I extended my 8 minutes to 12 minutes to see if I could achieve it. Result, although I was producing enough sweat to fill a bath! Best track of the run? Ricky Martin, 'She Bangs'.
Reflections so far? I'm now under 80kg for first time in a couple of years, BP is also down, clothes fit better, aches and pains have eased and most of all, I know I can do this now! Only downside is my music tastes haven't improved.
