Stress fracture recovery: Day 3

Hello!

So, yesterday was a painful one. To give some context, I do the school run twice daily on foot. It's a 2 mile round trip and there's some hill but it's all paved.

I was tender after the morning run at the fracture site so rested, but after the afternoon run, man were my muscles tired!

Just sitting flat footed and trying to lift my toes was painful.

I have noticed that as I walk my ankle is trying to roll to the side, so I walk on the outer edge of my foot, and correcting this takes effort, needing a conscious effort in the arch of my foot.

So far today I have done the morning run, but it's taking concentration not to limp

Have the doctors given you any stregnthing exercises, it might be worth a little ask because I would say making sure you do this safely will be important to you. I thought they gave physio sometimes for recovery?

Hello!

The Dr did not, but the fracture was initially missed by the radiographer and I was attending a private physio for a "Sprained ankle" for 11 days.

She gave me some exercises and a therapy band which I am using.
