So I started C25K around 2 months ago. I was obese as a teenager, lost a lot of weight and with it muscle since I had no idea of what I was doing. I needed extensive surgery to repair my ACL, meniscus and some other stuff. I had to stop on W3D1 because my knees hurt like hell. Came to find out I wasn’t wearing the right shoes. Got new shoes, rested for a week, had to restart at week 2. Knee pain is gone, the most I get now are sore knees (not painful). 6 days ago I decided to run up a hill ( A LONG hill) two workouts in a row. That’s when I noticed my foot was hurting. Not unbearable pain at all, just a twinge.
Went home, the pain subsided. The best way I can describe is that it feels like stabbing or a needle going in if that makes sense? I figured the pain is in my 2nd metatarsal. The pain is not constant, it doesn’t hurt when I bend my toes. It stops hurting when I run (well it does hurts, but it’s just this annoying kinda pain). It doesn’t look bruises or swollen. It doesn’t really hurt when I press it… I can walk just fine but I do feel a twinge once in a while. I honestly don’t want to stop again, this helps my mental health tremendously and it’s the only thing that keeps me going. Could this possibly be from running on sharp rocks with road shoes or a stress fracture? If memory serves me correctly, I ran through the pain twice. The second time was on flat surfaces. I haven’t ran for 3 days now, I’ve been icing it but the pain is still there when I try to run. Has anyone else experienced this?
TIA.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your determination, but the only accurate advice you will get in respect of your issue is from either a doctor or physio who have examined you.
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Take care.
Enjoy your journey.
Like others have said, if you are worried speak to a medical professional. You seem really keen, but always important to take your time and pace yourself. Good luck!
I agree that a doctor or physio is the way forward. I have had a stress fracture of the 2nd metatarsal. The solution was rest with minimal weight bearing (with an orthopaedic boot). It took a while to get the correct diagnosis. The physio who finally got me on the right road found the spot by gently but firmly applying pressure along the top of the bone. He said pain in the bone suggested a fracture, no amount of twisting or bending caused pain if I wasn't weight bearing and he suggested this told him it wasn't a soft tissue problem . If the pain is underfoot, then it might simply be bruised from those pebbles - that can be very painful for a couple of weeks. There are SO many possibilities with foot pain - rest will be needed fir most issues but only a GP or a physio will be able to properly pinpoint what is wrong. Good luck
