If there’s one piece of advice ( besides wear sun screen ) it’s do knee strengthening exercises. Completed C25K, used Ju-Ju’s 10k plan, 5k Park runs, entered 100k ultra last summer and then pick up a knee injury in December. A few trips to the physio, several exercises and plenty of sessions on the indoor bike I’m now re-starting pretty much from scratch. From now on I’ll be stretching, warming up to the max and religiously doing knee strengthening exercises.

Totally agree with your two helpful suggestions Stuart448 .Knee and calf pain/soreness/ache is pretty much a 'given', with this running game and over working already weak muscles will only ever have one outcome .Fortunately I was pointed in the right direction very early on in C25K, so squats, lunges and calf work are the norm on my inbetween run days ! We don,t know what we don,t know and thats why the support and knowledge of our fellow runners is priceless in our quest to 'keep on running' !!
