So as week 1 run 2 looms tomorrow I’m thinking apart from making everything about the body fitter does it also cause weight loss. I’m currently knocking on the door of 15 stone and my height is 5 ft 10. I would ideally like to get to, amongst achieving the still doubtful continuous running for 30 minute 12 stone. Does anyone have any diet plans to accompany the running to help achieve this. I’ve bought bananas. Oh and I’m type 1 diabetic. All diet plans and tips great fully received.

It’s brilliant that you’re getting fitter and I’m sure that running will help with the weight loss. We’ve been following SlimmingWorld for years, and been target members for more than 3 years. Talk to your GP for advice and have a look at the SlimmingWorld website, there’s plenty of recipes and ideas there, you don’t have to starve yourself. Good luck 😉
As the guide to the plan states you don't need to alter a good balanced diet to do C25K healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Watching other people's weight loss journeys through this forum, it is those who are watching calories with apps such as My fitness Pal who seem to do best.
You don't need to pay anything to a multi billion pound slimming business to control your diet.
C25K alone will not support weight loss. You’ll burn 200 calories per run in the first few weeks.
You ‘need’ a calorie controlled ‘diet’ to lose weight. Whether that is WW, Slimming World, Cambridge diet, an app like MyFitnessPal or just being more thoughtful about what you eat, when you eat and how much you eat, that is all up to you. I’m successfully losing weight with running, 8000 steps on non-running days and not eating anything with sugar in it. We are all different.
When I first wanted to lose weight which I put on after stopping smoking I used the Samsung health app and stuck to 1500 calories per day which I still do, it really helps . Weight loss and inch loss is possible with healthy eating and running. You have to do things that are for the long term to get results . C25k is an excellent plan for wanting to achieve this good luck 😊
Thanks all. Im now on the my fitness app and have started the process. It’s very good and as long as I’m not lured into the premium payment I think I can get away with using the free version. (Penny pincher me but saving for new running shoes). I’m 25 stone want to get to 12 stone and so after putting this all in it’s saying I am allowed 2090 calories a day. I’ve never looked at calories before. Does this sound a reasonable amount. Apparently if I stick to this I’ll lose 5lb by 23rd April.
I've been using the free one and I have got on fine with it; I've achieved a slow but steady weight loss. I hope it works for you too ☺
Whoops forgot to say it sounds reasonable- its given me 1200 a day for my age/sex/height/activity level (I'm vertically challenged) and I checked it on the NHS BMI checker tool - which gave me a range of between 1200 and 1400. I'm pretty happy its not setting a stupidly low amount for me & no reason to think it wouldn't for you too!
I’ve upped the weight loss target to 2lbs a week and it’s given me just over 1500 now. I’ve also put in what I had for breakfast which was one of those belvita biscuit packs and also lunch and I’m left with about 670 for dinner. Nom nom. Does it allocate what calories you burn when running to it too ie. I burn 360 during a run (w1r2 tomorrow) so will it automatically add that (I have an I watch too with this app now installed).
If it syncs with your watch then I think it will - sadly I have a cheap one (which I love) but its not compatible with the app - one of the reasons I wouldn't consider paying for the subscription version. You can create exercises easily though and add them manually if you find that it doesn't sync. Just make sure you set the watch to record your run when you start - can't tell you how many times I've realised near the end that I forget to do that and have had to guestimate!
