I'm now officially a graduate as this evening I have made my final run. My 11 year old daughter has been on every run with me - I'm not sure I'd have stuck with it on my own. On Saturday we took part in our first Parkrun (took about 31mins) and hope to continue doing so as they were such a lovely, supportive lot. I'm feeling very proud of myself and glad I took the plunge into the world of running. My only concerns now are how to proceed from here on but I shall search posts on here for inspiration 🙂

Congratulations to you both! Just consolidate 3 x 30 runs for 3 weeks before going further and then the worlds your oyster. Parkrunning is great - keep it up! A good time too. 🏃♀️🏃♀️👏👏🎓🍾🥂🏅

Keep running keep smiling.
Well done on your graduation. Congratulations. Well done also on a great time for your first Parkrun. And very well done to you for involving your daughter. I run on my own during the week but love doing Parkrun with my 9 year old Son. It’s a lovely thing to share with family.

How lovely to average achieved that together with your daughter. Lots of amazing running to look forward to together, especially parkruns 👍
Thanks fot sharing, what a wonderful gift to share with your daughter!!! Time well spent & an accomplishment for both of you to be proud of!
Thanks for sharing. I’m only on week 1 so far but this is great inspiration for my 10yo daughter and I. Well done!
I'm still in shock that I can run for 30mins without stopping! Looking back at the middle runs of 5 mins or 8 mins and I really doubted myself that I could do these. If you follow the programme it really works - I think it's a case of mind over matter, as in our bodies can do it but our mind is letting the doubt creep in. Have fun running with your daughter - you'll both smash it
Congratulations - not only on doing the programme - but doing your first parkrun and a time of 31 minutes. I can only dream of that. Great that your daughter is doing it too. I have two kids - one a complete couch potato, doesn't seem inspired by the rest of the family, and a son who wouldn't run with me as he goes nearly three times faster than me.
Many congratulations- graduating is such a good feeling! Keep at it
Congratulations to both of you! It’s great that you run together. parkrun is fun and a great way to keep the running bug going and meet other runners of all ages!
Congratulations on graduation! You should be very proud of yourself (and your daughter!).
What's keeping me going is having very specific goals. For example, I want to run from Bispham to Starr Gate (Blackpool - fairly flat, so this one is just about working up to the distance) and, later, to run around the Great Orme (Llandudno - quite hilly so more of a challenge).
And then there's always entering races...
Whatever you choose to do, all the very best with it!
Well done fellow graduate. What an achievement for you both. Keep it up.
