Run a bit slower. And don’t worry about counting breaths as the app suggests: most people on here found that didn’t help and that breathing gradually sorted itself out over a few weeks as they got used to running. But going slower does help.

Be gentle with yourself: your body is still protesting at this new demand you’re placing on it but it’ll get used to it :)

There is much great information and advice there...:)

If you are struggling with breathing at this stage..then just slow down...relax and breathe like you do all the time... without thinking about it:)

Slow and steady is the mantra and you will be amazed where it takes you :)

I got to week 4 before I was fit enough to breathe deeply and slowly enough.

Looking back, I could have repeated runs to help with my breathing.

My breathing is fine now on week 6.

Hi Hayley, i remember wishing I had an oxygen tank behind me! I tried controlling my breathing but it was never going to work. I’ve just done W4R2 and the breathing has stopped being gasping 😅 it’ll sort itself out as you progress. Enjoy.
