This is me today, proper chuffed at running 5 miles (8km) for the first time. I’m 46, overweight (by 4 or 5 stones) and started C25k in October, graduating at New Year. I haven’t lost much weight as I haven’t been very mindful with my food intake but I’m trying harder to combine running with a better diet. I have a very long-standing knee problem and I am very slow: about 8-9min/km or 15min/mile is my happy pace. C25k has changed my life and back in October when I struggled to run for one minute I would never have believed I could run for over an hour as I did today. I cried when I completed the 20min run of week 5 run 3 as for the first time I believed I could do this, and I could have let myself have a little weep today too! I’m not posting this for any pats on the back, but as encouragement for those who might be in a similar position to me and wondering what they might achieve. Keep going and trust in the programme!
Keep at it: This is me today, proper chuffed at... - Couch to 5K
Keep at it
Just look at the smile that C25K can generate.
Well done on those five milestones!!!
Keep running, keep smiling.
Well done (and you deserve the pats on the back anyway)! I am starting my consolidation runs tomorrow - and I appreciate the encouragement too!
Well, you’re getting a pat on the back anyway... great job on 8k and 60 minutes!
Lovely inspirational post for all those struggling to begin, fearing the 20 or moving on postgrad.
Happy running.
That’s amazing you should be proud. X 😁
That’s such a lovely post. Well done on your 8K. I’m going to attempt an 8K tomorrow morning. I’m delighted for you. Congratulations.
