Hi Rainybella.

Well done for getting this far.

It’s a common misconception that the goal of the program is to run 5km in 30 mins.

It’s actually just to run for 30 minutes three times in a week.

The name is a bit misleading in my view.

If you follow these forums and dig into some older posts you’ll find that you are far from being alone in not covering 5km in your runs. I’ve seen posts of people who have graduated, and it took them until they were running for 40-50 mins to cover that distance, so don’t feel disheartened.

Once you graduate after week 9 you will need to come up with a consolidation plan which will allow you to progress as you want to progress. Different people have different goals. Some want to get to 5k. Some want to get to running for an hour. Once you are able to run for 30 mins, anything is possible with planning.

You will probably find that as you consolidate and start to increase your distance or time your speed will naturally begin to develop during shorter distances or times.

I’m almost through week 6 for the first time and I’m currently hitting around 2.75km. It is what it is unfortunately.

Again, don’t worry about the distance and have fun.

Happy trails.

Hi I got to week six without even giving it a thought and as everyone on the forum will tell you, it’s your journey and your pace, the key is to move forward each week at YOUR pace and you will complete it - you will be able to run for a whole thirty minutes. Who cares how far or fast, there’s plenty of time for that once you can run for thirty. Move to week 7 - you’ve got this xx

I’m on Week 7 n not even doing 3k yet but I’m not remotely bothered. It’s the running that’s important, not the distance covered

You’re doing great. You pace should be conversational, and that is different for everyone. What matters is you’re running 25 minutes... with your warmup that’s a 30 minute cardio session, and that’s a life changer fitness wise.

You may do 5k in 30 minutes at some point... most of us don’t do it on the plan... some of us never do it. Don’t sweat it... 5k in 30 won’t change your life.

Many folk do not make 5K.. the name C25K is an oxymoron... it is catchier than C2-30...all you need to do is those 30 minute runs:)

Run relax and enjoy!

Many, many of our most awesome forum friends, including Marathon runners have never , ever done 5K in 30 minutes...

No such thing as too slow.. you are doing just fine!

If you look at this poll of graduates healthunlocked.com/couchto5.... you will see that only a small proportion manage a sub 30 minute 5k at graduation.

You are doing great.
