I know it's not related to running, but since graduating from C25K I've decided to give yoga a try.
So last night I attended a taster yoga class, and while I found it tiring in a good way, it is something I would want to do again. However, I can't commit to regular classes and thought the flexibility of doing something at home might be a better option.
Do any of you out there have experience of any of the apps, You Tube, etc available and what would you recommend?
Thanks peeps 😀

Love Yoga with Adriene, I do the post-run one after every run n at least one long session a week. There’s so many to choose from n I love that she doesn’t go super fast so it’s easy to follow along 🧘🏻♀️
Yoga is great for stretches and there are loads that suit runners, I’ve done some beginners classes. I got a book as well. There are some ‘poses’ I do as my stretch routine after every run. Especially hip and back stretches.
A lot of places now do ‘class passes’ where you can either ‘drop in’ or go to a class whenever you can, e,g I’ve just bought a 5 class pass, and it never expires, the teacher just deducts the class cost when I attend.
‘Hot yoga’ might be worth a try too - it’s a bit full on, and a whole body work out in 37 degree heat, so you do sweat - a lot 😱
Videos are good, but I’m always a bit worried I won’t do the thing properly and might hurt myself.....😂....and I’m no way as bendy as those people in the videos.....😂🧘♀️
3) Fantastically more bendy and supple than most of us.
So whilst you are following her youtube videos, be realistic about what you can accomplish, and don't over-do it. It would be like Sir Mo Farah leading you on a C25K run. (He can do it faster than us).
I tried one of Adrienne's Yoga-for-Runners videos a few weeks ago. I had to laugh at how inflexible I was compared to her. Some of the things she was asking of me were simply impossible!
I can thoroughly recommend the DVD I use weekly: ‘Penny Smith’s Essential Guide to Yoga’ if you can get hold of it. It’s Hatha Yoga so it’s quite gentle but it’s really helped stretch my hips (The Pigeon) and adductors (The Cobbler) out since I started using it. An hour a week seems to work just nicely.
My yoga teacher has recommended the "Down Dog (Great Yoga Anywhere)" app. I am yet to try it but I understand it can be adjusted for length of workout and level of practice.
Go to a class every so often if you can though, teachers can spot things or suggest modifications, which is great for beginners.
