Lots of learning today

Because I am a technophobe I haven’t actually tracked how far the distance I go is. As it is blowing a gale outside I thought I would walk it with my phone for distance.

Firstly OMG my trainers make a massive difference! Because I was walking I wore my normal boots and my feet and calves are really aching. I thought compared to jogging it would be a literal walk in the park, I was wrong!

Secondly my total distance including warm up and cool down is 3.7K , a bit less than I was hoping for but only just starting week 8 so a way to go.

Finally I found the walking quite boring and found myself missing jogging! I didn’t get in the same zone as I do when jogging, never thought I would say that. So looking forward to getting my trainers back on a going for my next run!

Shoes do make a huge difference. Don’t worry, or be disappointed, about distance... this is about fitness and health... distance and pace are still a mission that is a few weeks away, and you’ll love it.

Thank you! It is hard getting over the mental battle of expectation but I feel I enjoy the running process more than before so that is a massive win for me
