So hi, I'm 36 year old female and am planning on starting this today. I used to run loads when I as younger school teams, town team and really loved it. Then i discovered partying and boys .lol.

I have quite a physical job and go out regularly on long walks with my dog. I'm just trying to think where i can go where there won't be too many people feeling very self conscious as i am over weight and unfit i have not ran for years.

Welcome to C25K Lilliz, enjoy the next 9 weeks, at the end of run 3 of week 9 you will have graduated but you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish, good luck. 👍

Don't ever feel self conscious, easier said than done I know. Genuine people will always admire the fact that you are doing something and not sitting on the couch. If you go to a parkrun you'll see all shapes and sizes along with different abilities, everyone is supportive. Good luck and there's plenty of support on here.

I remember partying and boys - they were nearly as much run as running !!

Good luck with this. I've found that reading posts on here and writing my own post after each run helps keeps me motivated. We're a friendly bunch. Let us know how you get on.

I go out early in the morning and never pass anyone. Not that you need to avoid people! You are trying to get fitter so should be super proud of yourself.

Mostly, onlookers have no clue if you have reached ten miles or ten yards anyway :)

Early days are a bit tense - but very soon, you start feeling so good about being a runner, you become bullet proof :)

Welcome... well done starting this. A lot of parks are pretty quiet during school time... but it’s hard not to be seen. I say go be seen... get it over with... inspire others. Enjoy your journey.

Before you start just sit down and thunk through your route . Don't worry when you're out running you'll be to busy focusing on that you'll forget what's going in around you good luck 😊
