Don’t run with your kids!!

My son who’s in his 20s started c25k about a month after me. Anyway he gave up after a couple of weeks to do his own thing. So he said for us to go on a jog together but I warned him I go very slow. So he went his slowest and I sort of kept up. I did my normal 3.5km and stopped exhausted and he carried on doing another 5km at mo farah speed. 10 days later my knees have just about recovered and I just did a run, but really be warned....

Ha Ha I hear you. I run during the week in the evenings on my own but run Parkrun with my 9 year old Son. We run together at Parkrun but with about 800 meters to go to the finish line the young man drops the hammer and disappears off into the distance. I just can’t keep up.

I know it Pete! 🤦‍♀️ My 25 year old daughter and I did Parkrun “together” a while ago, but she soon got bored of being a 🐌 and disappeared. She came in a full 8 minutes plus before I did. She doesn’t even run much, just does yoga. What?! 😩😩😩 😅

Happy running! 😀

I've only run once with my 14yr old son, he got fed up of my pace and zoomed off. By the time I'd gone round once he was 3/4 way round his second lap! He's not big on running either but trains in martial arts 7hrs a week and he was doing athletics at school that week. Not running with him ever again!

Very true... I ran with my Dad a couple of times... in his 80s, with rheumatoid arthritis and prostate cancer... first time he said the pace was a bit slower than he was used to.... second time, when the cancer had metastasised and was terminal (and he was dead under a year later), we did Week 1 of C25K... he was way off ahead in the distance ...

I blame the parents 🙄

Definitely not running with my son - checking his Strava feed he’s currently doing sub 4 minute kilometre pace for 15k runs..... I hate him!
