So... Since I've graduated I don't really have anything to post about the C25K anymore! And I miss not coming here to post! So just saying hi and I'm still around just mainly posting on the weight loss forum as that is more my focus now. I'm still running three times a week! I don't feel like I'm getting faster or fitter haha. But I'm out there, enjoying it and doing it! And love the huge calorie burn it gives me! Lol
Happy running people!

I've just had to order smaller uniform at work for the second time since December! Although I am doing various exercise routines and dieting on top of running. But the running burns the most calories in the least amount of time ie according to mapmyfitness 40 mins run is around 460 calories burned but 40 mins on my treadmill (walking as it's manual so can't run) is only 230 calories. A brisk walk for the same time is about 300 or so. So I see maintaining the running as the best way to maintain my weight when I reach my target weight.
And I definitely notice my legs are more toned. Plus I've lost 5 inches off my waist since C25K and 4 inches off my hips. So it's all good!
Great, I put on 4st since stop smoking April 2013 so last May I decided get the weight back off . I've now lost over 2st with running and watching what I'm eating like yourself . So good luck to you with your running and weight loss 😊
Well done for quitting smoking! I luckily never smoked but my mum finally gave up a year a go at age 68! So I know from her how hard that is! One of her issues was always that she put on weight if she didn't smoke!
I was just looking for something else to do as I quit and chocolate was my thing and lots of it , then one day I didn't want it anymore as I wasn't happy being overweight. Do stopped the chocolate and starting walking then running . I thought if I can stop smoking I can do anything
That's a good way to look at it! I've been watching lots of Extreme Weight Loss on TV recently and I saw a quote in the background which has really inspired me. It said: SUCCESS WONT COME TO YOU. YOU HAVE TO GO TO IT.
I really like that motto! And it applies to many things!
I also started walking then running. I would recommend walking first to many people wanting to do C25K. Firstly it gets you used to making the time in your day. And secondly builds up your muscles and stamina ready. I still like walking on the rest days between runs. And I eat way less chocolate than I used to! At one time I ate those big bars - 200-250g bar? One every day!! I think I'd be sick now if I ate a whole one of those! Lol
Yes I used to buy chocolate buttons the ones that said family share bag , I shared them with no one😂. Now I have one very small bag now and again , chocolate doesn't really interest me that much any more so that's s good thing
At the moment I just do my own thing - if it's a route I did regularly on C25K then I know my turn around points. Or else I'll set my phone's timer to ring at the half way point. That's the bit I miss most! Cos with the timer you have to take time to stop it whereas with the app you can turn but ignore it as it just rings once.
I do miss the app though! I like having the commentary that tells you you have done five mins or have five mins left!
Haha, I'm still here too 😀 I have followed the Bridge to 10K, just reading for now, but as I'm still working up to 5K, I'm still more here than there!!
True. I could have a look at the 10k I suppose... it's just I never have enough time without the kids to run longer than 40 mins/5k so I'm not sure how useful it will be for me.
Lol my oldest (almost 13) is already at the stage where I don't see her out of her room unless she wants food. But my youngest is seven and a bit of a baby. She likes to follow me wherever I am in the house. I can leave her for the 40 mins but I still worry about all the what ifs!
I will miss it when she is like the other one and doesn't want attention anymore or when they both move out! But I'm planning a career change so I will get to focus on that to keep myself busy!!
The other thing is to come back and respond to posts- your experience is really valuable! People are always asking about running and weight loss for example...
I had so much good advice when I was doing the programme that it's nice to give back
