Just completed week 7 run 1 and am feeling so emotionally and physical tired .. my back is hurting .. my legs were hurting at 6 mins in I'm sure most if what I did today was just by pure will power and the effects of natural momentum. My running buddy tried to keep me up beat at the end in 5 min walk but I just wanted to cry ... .. any one else had this or am.i just being a drama queen .. ? I know I can do it but these 25 min runs are killing me ..
Not feeling pumped anymore: Just completed week... - Couch to 5K
Not feeling pumped anymore
Hello, I’ve just come back from w5 r2, I wasn’t feeling it either, last week I ran 4 times and was buzzing despite a nasty head cold, looking back, maybe I should of not been so enthusiastic last week and taken more rest. I felt very heavy today and didn’t really enjoy it.
Soooo, I’m viewing it as a learning curve, not every run is going to feel great, but it’s still a run! my next will feel better 😁😁😁
Hey . Thanks it good to not feel alone in this with the.emotion of it all .. it's taking every ounce if my will power
. But my c25k buddy has just told me we ran 2.12 miles today so really not that far off xx I'm having a.nice soak listening to some tunes and slowly bring my head out of the slump that I was in 2⁰mins ago xx we've got this xxx
Hi don’t despair it happens to many. The runners high is a powerful thing and does go disappear sometimes. Some people never actually feel it so if you’ve had it up to now you’re very lucky 🍀. I know you have a running partner but sometimes, as the runs get longer an extra days rest can be good idea. It might also be that the rest of your life is extra busy and that takes energy too, or you might have picked up a bit of a bug - all things to consider. But you were out there and you did it and will be again 👏👍. That long hot soak will set you right.
Best wishes for a brilliant w7r2
Well done for completing 7/1 today! I’ll also be doing 7/2 on Tuesday - we can send positive thoughts to each other 😊👍🏻
Sounds like you’re trying to force yourself to 5k - but the vast majority of people haven’t reached 5k when they graduate: in spite of the programme name, the aim is to run a specific time, NOT a specific distance. Try slowing down a little: relax, look for the Spring flowers, listen to the birds, enjoy the journey. You’re doing great x
Thanks but if I went any slower I would be speed walking... I'm not fussed about reaching 5k just staying active is my goal ... I am surprised I have taken to joggung so well .. I have had spinal surgery and am heavy set on top so I'm happy to sustain being puffed out for so long .. it's the achey legs that do me in .. getting through the pain of them is the worst xx
