Advice please

Been promised new shoes for my birthday next month, but I have really wide feet. I’ve always been happy with Adidas in the past but my current pair had a narrower toebox and I have to wear matching socks now otherwise you can see the holes where my little toes have worn through. Any other wide footed runners able to recommend some brands for browsing ? Thanks in advance !

My daughter has small but really wide feet and she likes Altra, which specialise in a wide toe box. Not always easy to find, as they are a US brand, but can be done. I’m hoping to try some too.....

Thanks for that - not a name I’d come across. I’ll put it on the list x

I wear Brooks - come in different widths too.

Try the Adrenaline GTS and Ghost 11 if road running. Good luck!

Go to your nearest Runners shop and have your Gait assessed. Mine was free in local town, then they bring you appropriate shoes and voila they all fit like a glove.....

Sound advice, but my nearest running shop is almost 50 miles away and I’m on a very tight budget, so I want to do some browsing first.

I wear brooks.... D fit, which is a wide fit. But not available in every model. New Balance also do a couple of wide fit (d fit), which I have had in the past.

I wouldnt risk a normal fit which happens to have a wide toe box, i made that mistake once before! The widest point of my foot is at the very base of the top box, so its still too tight.

For my trail shoes I opted for men’s shoes, which generally come in a D fit as standard. Most start at a size 7, but there are a few in size 6. Mind you, I wear a size 5 normal shoe, but my trail shoes at size 7 are perfect..... again these are Brooks but that was just because they were the ones I preferred.

Thanks Millie-J. My feet are small as well as wide so men’s shoes aren’t an option, but I’ll browse boys’ ones too.

Just check the standard width of boys though to be sure.

Hi. My normal shoe size is a 5 but I have very wide feet. I’m on my second pair of Brooks Ghost running shoes in a size 7 🤣. Brooks come in different widths.

I’m in Scotland and went to Run4it in Inverness. I think they have other stores in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

A graduation day out running shoe shopping would be good 😁. Gait analysis will tell you if you need a neutral or more supportive shoe. Brooks Ghost are ideal for me but maybe not so much for you.

Thanks Alissum. Brooks seems a popular choice for wide footed runners.

I’ve got wide short feet too, I went to a running shop and got a pair of brooks after they looked at my feet and gait and I really like them. Comfortable from day one. I just told the guy at the shop what the absolute limit was financially 50.00 and then spent 80.00 😂😂😂 they were reduced so I saved really 🙄🙄🙄. You deserve a nice graduation present 💝
