Really bad run...

I've just done wk4 r1 and found it soo hard! I had to slow down to a walk in the mid 3 minute run after about a minute. Nearly threw the towel in half way through. Managed the final 5 minute run but feel really disheartened. Do I need to complete the run again. Anyone else experienced similar?

Hi, I found that run hard but it got better and I’ve just done wk5 r1 and loved it. Also found it easier in terms of recovery today. Stick with it. You ll get there. Remember go slow!

Just slow down as much as possible and yes redo again until you complete the run without stopping

Perhaps you were running a little too fast and you weren't hydrated enough. Remember to drink plenty of water the day before you run next time.

Oh I had a few! I started running on a different app and I crossed the start line several times and didn’t get close to the finish line! Don’t worry about it. Well done getting out there... I think repeating is best. Today’s run made you stronger though... don’t ever forget that even the worst run makes you a better runner. You’ll get it next time.

Well done, you had a go.

There are so many variables that can affect our ability to run. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of the list, but every thing in your life can influence your performance.

Have a rest day and try again, just a bit slower.

Any run not completed should be repeated, then you move on.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Hills! I avoided them like the plague and still had those impossible runs! Enjoy Friday.

Hills were what scuppered my first attempt at W4R1 - I found a flatter route after that!

Just remember to hydrate well and keep it really slow, and you WILL do it next time 😊
