Feeling flipping fabulous!

Felt like I was running well within myself, which still feels completely amazing. Don't get me wrong, I'm still pretty slow, my legs still felt it, and I definitely know I worked hard, but it's all just starting to feel like something I can do, on good days and not-so-good days. Can't believe how far I have come.

That’s brilliant!! I’m running my W9 R1 tomorrow and your share is very helpful. I feel similar with how far I’ve come too. I think W6 I was thinking, it’s still hard! I’m not sure if it will ever feel comfortable. Yet, now when I run it feels enjoyable. I’m still not at the point of easy run by any means but I feel that after the end of the run I still have another 5+ mins in me that I could run. This is huge step!! Before I would stare at the last few mins as if time stood still and I was still running. Huge mental energy to keep going!! So I definitely can relate to what you’re sharing. Well done and thank you for sharing!! :)

It's so weird to look back into the very recent past when 5 minutes seemed totally impossible ... and now after 25 minutes when you get the "5 minutes left" it feels perfectly doable! And I agree, the thought of another 5 added on now seems inevitable, just a formality of gradually increasing to get there. At current pace it's going to take me 45 minutes to hit the elusive 5K, but that's fine, I'm deliberately taking it steady.

It must feel so good inside to say I can run 5k in 45 mins!!! Pretty brilliant given that at the start of the programme 9 weeks of running seemed like a ‘who knows maybe’ dream. (At least for me!). By continuing 5k in 30 mins will be possible too. Then longer too. But honestly pretty fantastic I’d say!! It’s true little by little one has a lot! It’s our patience and thought control that helps us. This programme is teaching me this. Well done!! :)

Aww, thanks 😀

My diary for the week is a bit all over the place so haven't decided yet which day I'm aiming for.

Waiting with bated breath - though goodness knows what that’ll do to my running 😁

Hey Ethelbert ....these are my favourite F words..and they are music to my ears...slow? Hard? That’s normal trust me...you can def do this, you fantastic runner you...a-maz-ing....good for you...keep it coming...

Thanks for the encouragement 😀

I think understanding about slow has made all the difference ... I have never been able to run any real distance before, despite a few attempts, and I've realised it's probably because I was always more of a sprinter at school (many moons ago!) so what I thought of as "running" was much faster... NOT the way to build up any kind of stamina without risking injury!
