I was due to do W4R2 today but the snow won! Not sure it will be safe tomorrow either. Does it matter if I wait longer or will I need to do repeats?
Does it matter if more than2 days between runs?? - Couch to 5K
Does it matter if more than2 days between runs??
I had a weekend away so waited 3 days rather than 1 after wk5r1. It was fine I then went on to do the infamous wk5r3 and that was great even this week in the cold
Don’t worry, an extra rest day here and there won’t impact your progress... you may even find it’s easier after.
Thx guys! Good to know. I was doing well sticking to a schedule but bound to be difficult to stick to rigidly.
I'm frequently having 2-3 days in between runs. This means that I'm only in W4 now having started 30 December. But I have to tell myself that the sessions and intervals have to be at my convenience, otherwise I think there is a danger of losing motivation.
Read elsewhere it takes up to two weeks to lose your stamina gained so two or three days I very much doubt you would notice it.
I agree an extra day or two actually seems to make the run easier! But I totally get the frustration of the weather! I did my run Thursday instead of Friday to beat the snow and now hoping it's clear by Sunday for my next run!
I'd say it's fine. Took me longer to complete the program as sometimes struggled to complete 3 in a week. Good luck
Totally fine! I’ve had up to three days between runs and no issues at all, even though I felt like I must be rusty. The increased stamina you build with this plan is real and you’ll see the effects. Like someone said earlier today, just trust the plan.
It’s just a tactical rest ladyvickster 🤪👣 body will be none the wiser
My 9 weeks took 11 😀😀
Definitely not a problem. It is much better to avoid an injury than run when the ground is icy and frozen.
My personal rule of thumb was to start that week again if I had more than a week between runs (I managed to hurt my back slightly in Week 7) but there are no hard and fast rules. Just try to avoid injury.
Enjoy your next run when you can do it x
Thanks all. It’s starting to melt so hopefully tomorrow I can get out safely
I am only managing one run a week at present. The aim of the programme is to build stamina and I do think this is easier if you are running more regularly, but run when you can and enjoy it. I do try and do some other exercise such as a rowing machine mid week to maintain my fitness.
