My normal run is sheet ice today, drove it in 4x4 and no way am I running that way!

I really need to run today, but we are rural here so only main roads are gritted...

Wondering what others do?

Either get to a gym if you can do safely and run on a treadmill or don't worry about it today and get out asap and you can run safely, not much you can do other than that and do some dynamic excercise at home, it won't hurt to miss a few days..

If I had a gym or treadmill, that's a good call, but round here you need to be a member, and I'm not! I think there's a cycle route that could be clear, I am going to go and check it out. Not a very exciting run - straight up and straight back, but better than nothing... I can't miss a day, already had my rest day yesterday (working so no choice) and I am reluctant runner so any excuse and it's the slippery slope...... I've come too far (Wk 7 R2) to lose momentum now.

I use a (boring) gravel surface cycle path when more interesting routes are icy. We too are rural. But also, an injury is way more trouble than finding alternative exercise for today! Be cautious....

Some gyms have day passes, I can use mine with concession's being a certain age, but avoid doing so as not keen on gyms.

A lot of us are or for me were in the same boat, I found I had to stop making excuses, and not to overthink it, either go or no, no fitness is lost for a weather induced layoff..

Stay home and plan routes for when the ice goes 🐧

I’m taking an extra rest day... running on ice is a bad idea. If you have access to a treadmill that’s one way round it, some gyms do day passes, but as you’re rural and roads are bad that may not be safe to do either. I’d be finding an indoor low impact body weight workout to do and see what tomorrow brings.

same problem here with ice. I find running on grass helps with grip but be careful of uneven surfaces and rabbit holes!

The cycle path was clear, but I took it steady as some spots slightly slushy. Other road/path way awful, glad I didn't try. I may enquire about a day pass to a gym - there is a place at the local college, my friend is a member, but worth an ask. Thanks for the suggestion.
