No elation for completion whatsoever. Frankly that was not a pleasant experience. Was going ok to 14 minutes then my calves became so tight I felt like they was going to burst.

Not a happy camper after that.

Ohhhh poor you 😢😢. I have found that a longer warm up seems to help with tight calves and I do dynamic stretches before I leave the house. Give them a a good massage now your home, perhaps it was the cold that caused it. 😊

Having just been annoyed at my disobedient body, I’ve decided I’m going to gait analysis and some new running trainers today. The ones I have were bought after gait analysis but they are a few years old.

I’m disappointed that after achieving a milestone I should feel good but if anything I’m questioning myself and the program more than ever.

Well done, you did it.

I am with UnfitNoMore extend warmup and be very thorough with post run stretches. See the guide to the plan for links.

Ouch ! Starting off too fast, maybe ? But you did it ! Massive congratulations 🏅 I found myself all weepy and emotional after 5:3 myself - it really is a great achievement.

You did it though! It’s not easy and you did it. Warmup, even at a gym, isn’t easy as our legs are colder than usual so I’d be extending it. Maybe a foam roller alongside dynamic stretches and post run static ones will work wonders on the calves.
