On an absolute high... completed week 3 as park of Parkrun 4 this morning. Feel like I could climb mount Everest. Wait, I hear you cry... It's only 3 minutes of running. Well 3 weeks ago that was an impossible goal. Can't wait for the next one. :)

Well done! I am not running outside yet, just on a treadmill, but there is a local park run which I'm really interested in. Any tips on how to pace your runs? I have no idea unless I can see it in the treadmill display. Planning on parkrun once I graduate 🏃‍♀️👍

I try and follow the guidance that you should be able to speak sentences out loud whilst running - which means mine is really very slow! My first one I walked most of and just did a little running. :)

Well done! And you enjoyed it.

Did a lot of other people seem to be doing the c25km in park run? Did you start the race with the warm up walk?

I passed someone who may have been doing C25K, but further into the programme I would say.

I haven't seen anyone that looked to be doing the programme... but then again, most of the runners are out of sight before I've got very far! :) I started my first 3 with the warm up walk but this one I warmed up properly before the start and then paused the run and then set off running from the start (I'm doing a longer warm up than on the podcast as I find it helps a lot with my aching legs).

Sounds great. I also do longer warm ups. Today to get to the start of my warm up I walked up the equivalent of 12 flights of stairs so I was warm and didn’t fancy being that brisk!!

Yes, at the start of the week my "brisk" walking wasn't really that brisk... but by the end of the week I can do both the runs and the brisk walking. :)

And you looked really comfortable as you approached the finish line. Well done

Excellent and well done. That’s a lovely way to do it. Celebrate run 3 of each week at Parkrun and it’s also I’m sure a great way to gauge your improvement.

I’m just back home after a Parkrun with my 9 year old Son. We celebrated with Breakfast afterwards with some of the Parkrun community.

Brilliant! Yes, it really motivates me not to put off my runs during the week because I know I want fresh legs for parkrun so want to do run 2 on Thursday morning so have to do run 1 by Tuesday night at the very latest. Sadly, I have students on a Saturday so can't stay behind for any socialising (or bacon sandwich eating!). I occasionally get cancellations though so hope to be able to some time.

Well done, that sounds brilliant. I was aiming to start Parkrun at the end, but perhaps I'll join sooner. It would be nice to run with other people ... well for the first few seconds before they leave me behind!

This time last year I was in Amsterdam. Love your profile background.

Keep running & enjoying it!

Thanks you. My other half is the artist (I can't draw a stick man!). We go to Amsterdam a couple of times a year and the bright colours in this make me smile. :)
