Retro Runners - First Single Bought Playlist Released

Hi all you lovely people and a very Happy New Year to one and all

Having promised Millsie-J that I’d post this today, here is the first of our playlists for 2019.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did - I tested it yesterday and it seemed to work beautifully - except just for one track, which isn’t really my cup of tea... run report here jancanrun.com/2019/01/08/7-...

The Spotify playlist link is below - failing that you can search under Retro Runners for all the lists created so far or follow me as Jan Can Run, then you can see everything created.

Got it Jan, just downloaded that playlist on to my Smartphone and pressed the green button (heart) on the phone to add as a favourite. Thanks, I notice that the track I asked for is on it, Cliff Richards Living Doll.

That’s the plan, except for the occasional ‘I really can’t stand that song’ - most go on my lists, because it’s a reminder that we are all different ages and have different tastes in music, but we all like running. Glad you like it, another theme coming later this month..

Wow, what a list, it has given me a trip down memory lane - I may have to select some of these to run to too.

in reply to Razouski

I know some of it was a real memory test for me, but David Bowie is often appearing on the lists and so too are the 80s (although that may have a lot to do with editor’s bias)

Love it.. I have fished out all my Gene Pitney songs.. and ahd a nostalgic look at the programme from the last time I saw him in his last UK tour!!! sigh !!!

in reply to Oldfloss

I like him too, I especially liked it when he partnered with Marc Almond and underrated singer imho

I sang backing vocals for Marc Almond once upon a time. It was a Marc and the Mambas concert at the Royal Festival Hall about 7 years ago. He wasn’t quite what he’d been in the ‘80s and ‘90s but I was still thrilled. 🤪

in reply to Razouski

You see this is precisely why you’re a running hero - bloody good runner and singer, with cracking music taste also. The real deal!

I know what you mean... that Berlin track irritates me too 😂. Just kidding, and many apologies!

in reply to UnfitNoMore

You don’t like Take That either? Can’t say I’m surprised, thought New Seekers were much more your vibe!😜🎤🎤🎤🎤🎼🎼🎼🎼🎸🎸🎸

Take that? They were great in the years they weren’t making albums.
