Just about to start week 2, feeling fairly confident ...will I ever manage a 5K though?
Week 2: Just about to start week 2, feeling... - Couch to 5K
Week 2
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Don't worry about 5k, just concentrate on your next run and in a few weeks you will be much nearer running 5k than you are now.
Enjoy your journey.
High Pearly runner ... I felt just as you did ... 2 thoughts
1 it’s gotta be good - over 60k people are doing this right now !
2 worst that can happen is a good walk - and that’s good anyway ....
I am on Week 8 Run 2 and not really sure how I got here... but I am loving the transformation in my thinking about running ... just take it one run at a time —- you will be fab-u-lous

Well done.. follow the link from IannodaTruffe ... just run and enjoy... 5K may come or not..but by the end of nine weeks... you will be a runner
Enjoy the week. Yeah you’ll run 5k as long as you keep at it... maybe not in the 9 weeks, I and many many others didn’t, so don’t focus on that. You can get to 30 minutes and if that’s not 5k, it just means you get to celebrate graduation and then celebrate 5k... for me that was two champagne evenings rather than just one, so I wasn’t complaining!!
Congratulations on making a start. I have no doubt that we will all be able to run 5k if we follow the programme and enjoy the journey. Good luck and keep posting!
You may not complete 5k during the program but once you have finished it can be a goal.
The important thing is you will be able to run for 30 mins without stopping.
If you can do 30 minutes without stopping you can build on this. Your pace improves as does distance with time.
If i can start week 2 and do the first run so can anyone. You should feel good and proud. Keep it up slow and steady you can do it. You've done the first week that's a great achievement ☺
You absolutely will Pearljamrob! Don’t try to go too fast though, follow the plan and you will get there. I started last May, and now love running. Enjoy 😄
Hi Pearljamrob , well done for completing week 1...don’t worry about distance...concentrate on your running i.e...breathing, pace, technique...before you know it you’ll be on week 9, running for 30 minutes and you’ll wonder how you ever managed it...distance will come after don’t you worry about that. Just enjoy your running 😉
Thanks for everyone’s positive comments! I feel positivity is the word when it comes to running - a ‘Can Do’ attitude! Onwards and upwards!!
