Hi everyone I'm over weight by 3 stone. It has crept up over the 5 years. My wonderful died in my arms last September 23rd from Dememtia. And I thought I would start of the year to loss all this weight and gain my health back.
I went running with my daughter a few a days ago which I enjoyed I have done couch and 5 k before and I felt so much better and started to loss weight.
But I have great waves of grief which comes over me for a few days. And I lose the will to get up again. So I thought talking to you guys would motivate me.

How awful for you. But I am sure you are being looked down upon and willed forward by those above. Have just finished week five and as a non runner I find it really lifts the mood and tones you up. Best of luck.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mum when I was doing C25K the first time (just finished my second attempt after injury and life put me back a bit) I found the running gave me space to clear my mind and think of her at peace. Try to put your trainers on and just get out the door even on your bad days - the fresh air and exercise will make you feel better I’m sure. Tell yourself you are just running around the block. See how you go 😊😘
I also lost my dad to dementia 7 years ago. It’s a horrible horrible disease that steals our loved ones away bit by bit. I found it hard to grieve properly because as I realised I had already lost him over the years. The man that died wasn’t the man I was grieving for 😔. You have my deepest sympathy and I’m sending you a hug.
My plan is to develop my running now and I hope to run a race for the Alzheimer’s society this year.
You can do this. Take one step at a time Allow yourself time to grieve, the time to go with the plan repeating days as needed and if you have a bad day that’s fine. There are loads of wonderful people on here offering support and advice. Keep in touch here. Sign up for the daily email of posts.
Sorry for the long reply but my heart went out to you when I read your post. 💖
Take care and post your updates on here. It’s a great place for support 😊😘
