It begins.. first run completed

It's been about 10 years since any serious cardio so that was quite hard going! Found it difficult to walk 'briskly' inbetween and could taste blood/metal in my mouth which after some googling I hear is somewhat normal. Now to do it again on Sunday! :)

The first run is the hardest! Well done. I've just started C25K again, but I remember how hard those first runs were. I never imagined I could last a whole minute, let alone 30! I don't know about the metallic taste, that's a new one to me. Just make sure you get a rest day between runs, and don't be afraid to repeat runs/weeks if you need to. I may just stay on Week 1 for a few weeks this time around! Enjoy the journey. C25K is a true life changer. Happy running. :-)

Thanks Legion! My legs are really aching today - can’t quite believe how unfit I’ve let myself become. But looking forward to seeing the improvements! Might try to slow down a little tomorrow given all the advice on here. Good luck with starting again - having done it before it must be nice to know you can totally do it again. Enjoy!

It is easier second time around, as you don't have that mental battle with yourself. If your legs ache, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go for a bit of a walk on your rest days, just not too fast/far. Definitely a good idea to slow the running down. Have fun.

My second run was much easier, just like you said! I even did an extra minute (the audacity!) ha! And not as achey today. Looking forward to tomorrow's now :)
