Back again after my third and hopefully final baby

2 years ago I used couch to 5k app and enjoyed every moment of it , but then I was told to stop running by my doctor because of hip bursitis . I was on week 9 then but I didn’t finish and got really annoyed with myself. I decided it was time for the final baby but then throughout the pregnancy I suffered with really bad pelvic girdle pain and at some point I couldn’t even walk. I’m still seeing my physio but I’ve decided to take the next step to try and get fit. I’ve done my week one run one today and I feel like I’ve been hit by a train 🙈. During my run I could few mainly intense pain in my pelvic joints but everything else was okay . Note that I have tolerated it quite well coz I actually managed to complete the whole session.

Now I’m wondering whether I’ve taken the best step or should I stop. I feel like I don’t even have any core muscles anymore and I’m not fit at all and really need to do something about it.

ANY ADVISE IS MOSTLY WELCOME THANK YOU 😊.

Well done you and welcome back..

If you have the all clear to go with this, from the experts..then the mantra is really slow and steady.

Please do read this FAQ post even if you have done this before...Make sure you have the correct shoes and socks too!

You are going to need to try and put in some exercise to build you up, strength and stamina wise... for the runs... so... there are loads on the net...

These may be helpful...

Warming up well before each run is essential as is the stretching afterwards. If you read the info in the FAQ link you will find the stretching exercises there.

Be kind to yourself and take it slower than a snail on a go slow... and keep posting too. We will be here to support you! You can do this:) It's just going to be steady"

Thank you I haven’t got the all clear , it’s been 6 month since baby so I thought I would give it a go. Thank you for the resources. I will definitely go through them before my next run on Saturday.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Just stay nice an slow, at an easy conversational pace, which still triggers adaptation but keeps impact stresses minimal.

Enjoy the journey.
